how we execute
Lake Wales Main Street, Inc. is led by a full-time Executive Director who coordinates the strategic work plan focused on historic preservation. To foster a vibrant downtown, the Executive Director and Board of Directors implement the Main Street America Four-Point Approach: Organization, Promotion, Design, and Economic Vitality.

Organization
A strong organizational foundation is essential for a sustainable revitalization effort on Main Street. The focus should be on uniting all available resources—such as partners, funding, volunteers, and civic organizations—to effectively achieve the goal of a vibrant and successful downtown.

Promotion
Promotions, ranging from street festivals to community education, position our historic downtown as the center of the community and the hub of economic activity.
3.
Design
The Lake Wales Connected design plan builds on our assets, preserves our historic resources, and provides a stage for cultural, educational, and social activities—serving as a catalyst for private investment and re-development.

Economic Vitality
Not only will The Lake Wales Connected plan reinvigorate downtown and stimulate private investment, but also create new businesses and jobs, and save tax dollars. Economic vitality encompasses adaptive re-use (like upstairs housing), business recruitment, and business retention.
